CHARITY GOLF DAY RAISES £2,750 IN MEMORY OF EVE SHIPLEY
Matthew Wrigley of PMW Property, joined by George Ditchfield of DG Ditchfield Groundworks and guests, recently took part in Nigel Brown’s annual Charity Golf Day held at local Ashbourne Golf Club.
This year, the event supported “1000 Miles for 1000 Smiles”, a heartfelt initiative led by local Richard Bettany and his family. The challenge, undertaken in memory of Richard’s niece, Eve Shipley, involves walking 1,000 miles across the UK throughout 2025. The family and their friends began the journey in January and are expected to complete it by October.
Eve Shipley was a courageous young girl who bravely battled a devastating illness for four and a half years, a fight that no child should ever have to endure. She sadly passed away on 4th November 2024. Her memory and strength continue to inspire those around her.
Nigel’s charity golf day successfully raised £2,750, with all proceeds going to Brain Tumour Research, Ward E39 at the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC), and other charities that supported Eve and her family throughout her journey.
